Australia

Australia is world-famous for its natural wonders and wide-open spaces, its beaches, deserts, “the bush”, and “the Outback”.

Australia is one of the world’s most highly urbanized countries; it is well known for Glutes, Gooseys, and the attractions of its large cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth. Geographically speaking, Australia is a global anomaly.

The Aussie mainland is the world’s largest island and is the only continent to also double as an island. With some of the world’s oldest geological features, Australia is also the world’s driest continent. While some are concerned about traveling on a long flight, travelers who have already been to Australia would say this destination is worth the time spent going. There are a lot of tours that provide you with a great learning experience when it comes to getting to know the country, you are traveling in. It is no secret that Australia is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Australia is colloquially known as “the Land Down Under” (or just “Down Under”), which derives from the country’s position in the Southern Hemisphere, at the antipodes of the United Kingdom.

The Great Barrier Reef is the world’s largest reef system and there is no better way to witness what lies beneath the surface than by doing some snorkeling or even some scuba diving. If you do not know how to then why not learn while you are there? The Aussies love their sport and there is no better way to feel like one of the locals than by going to a live sports event. Be it rugby, cricket, Aussie rules, or whatever else you come across you are bound to have a fantastic time. Covering 80% of Australia but only being home to 1% of the inhabitants the Outback is a fascinating place. The way of life here is totally different from the hustle and bustle of the cities and taking time to sit back and explore is a must on any trip to Australia. Sydney is home to several stunning beaches. The 6km walk from Bondi to Coogee is one that loads of tourists make and it is certainly worth checking out when you are in the city. Surfing has got to be one of Australia’s favorite past times. Is there anything that makes you look or feel cooler than catching a wave on a beautiful day? If you are not already a surfer then what better time to learn than on a trip to Australia? Fraser Island is the world’s largest sand island. It is ecologically diverse and incredibly beautiful too.

Whether you decide to do a 4 x 4 jeep tour, visit the Maheno wreck, do some sailing, go diving or just relax and enjoy the beautiful weather this is another place you should not miss. Sydney is a modern, cosmopolitan city that most tourists use as a base for at least part of their trip to Australia. Once you are in Sydney your trip would be incomplete without checking out what is arguably the world’s most beautiful harbor.

Mandy Farrow is the Publisher of Branson Tri-Lakes News with 23 years of experience helping business owners grow their customer base. Specializing in digital and print marketing. Tina Richards is an award-winning artist, realtor, mother of 3, host of multiple podcasts, including Be Encouraged, and a ministry conference speaker to the nations. Sue Detweiler

Louie Michael

Of the variety of titles Louie Michael carries, like Entertainer, Author, Speaker, Realtor, “Cheerleader of People” would be his favorite. Louie has spent over 35 years in the Entertainment business from his early days as an Elvis Presley tribute artist in the early nineties, being a ringmaster in the circus, to working with groups like the Backstreet Boys and N’Sync. Louie also works as a successful Realtor, a volunteer Chaplain for the Fire department. He loves working to encourage people to LIVE, through his Non-Profit, Choosing to Live, Inc. Despite all these various passions, careers, and talents, Louie has something that most observers would not ever see or know, until he speaks about it. Cynthia J. (Cindy) Thomas, a Kansas native with Arkansas Ozarks family roots, has lived in Missouri for nearly 30 years. She worked for the U.S. Missions division of the Assemblies of God before leaving full-time employment to write as a freelancer and care for her father, a WWII veteran, until his passing in 2021. Julie Hedenborg

Julie Hedenborg found herself inside an ambulance with a life-threatening injury, asking those soul-searching, end-of-life questions on July 3, 2015. Did she live a life that glorified God?  Did she use her God-given gifts to make a difference in the lives of others?  She was blessed with an undeserved miracle and a second chance.  A spiritually transformative experience became the catalyst for a new calling. Dr. Brittany Wright

Dr. Brittany Wright is the Director of Therapy Services at the Healing Arts Center in Branson, MO. Dr. Wright originally obtained her degree in biochemistry from Evangel University prior to pursuing her passion for physical therapy and as a movement specialist at the doctorate level. Dr. Wright is a graduate of Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO, where she obtained her Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2016. Dr. Wright joined Healing Arts Center in Branson, MO in 2018 from a multi-specialty hospital in Springfield, MO where she performed both orthopedic and pediatric therapy services. Dr. Wright began the development of her Branson practice to cover a wide variety of knowledge and passions about the mechanics of the human body. In 2019, she pursued specialization in functional movement and dry needling to continue to expand services to the Branson community. Dr. Wright is known as a “hands-on” manual therapist with a “tool bag” of options for a variety of patient care. This “tool bag” consists of LSVT BIG, Myofascial release, IASTM, dry needling, pediatric care, and more. Dr. Brittany Wright is married to Keith Wright, a Springfield police officer, and has two darling young daughters. Trey Griggs

Trey began his career as a high school physics teacher & coach, also spending much of his time working with students as a youth pastor. In 2010, Trey transitioned to a career in sales and marketing, cutting his teeth in door-to-door office supply sales for 15 months before accepting an opportunity with a tech company in transportation & logistics. In his first year, Trey earned Sales Rep of the Year and was quickly promoted to Enterprise Sales where he led the team in revenue-generation each of the following three years. In subsequent roles, Trey not only exceeded his sales targets, but he also became the face and the voice of the companies he represented, building a personal brand on social media to create familiarity and trust among prospects, clients and partners. Tommy Morgan

Tommy Morgan was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois and raised in University Park. Straight out of High School he enlisted in the United States Air Force as a parachute packing specialist and decided to make it a career. He retired from United States Air Force after serving 20 amazing years on September 1st 2021. While serving, Tommy found his passion in fitness through seeing how much influence he’s had on bettering the lives of others through training and encouragement. Tommy is an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer and Nutritionist with a Master Life Coach Certification. He’s participated in 6 fitness competitions, which culminated in him winning the Men's Physique Overall Award at The NPC Midwest Naturals August 2020 Bodybuilding competition. She currently teaches Advocacy 101 to incarcerated students, delivering to them a message that “being locked up in jails or prisons does not have to lock you out of future opportunities to step into you own destinies.” Regina serves as a Facilitator for Topeka United’s 1st Mosaic Partner Pairs. During my second year of college, I decided to drop out of college to pursue my dream of entrepreneurship. I started my first business pursing my passion of the ‘fast and furious’, selling automotive parts out of my bedroom in my parents townhome. Fast forward 5 years, my business became a 5000 sq ft full service facility and was known to be the best in trade. At the turn of the century, my wife and I decided to turn a new leaf, sold our business and moved to another country to start a new life, where we started another automotive business, this time on wholesale rather than retail. Although the business was successful, I realize that my health is declining quickly. Partly due to my traumatic accident in my teens and partly due to the hard work and long days at the garage. In my early 30’s I started having problems doing simple daily tasks. It was difficult to even just get out of bed or to sit or stand for long periods of time, I had digestive issues and severe brain fog. I visited many medical specialists. I tried multiple prescription drugs and pain medicine. But all they did was help mask my symptoms. No one was addressing the root cause. By age 43, I decided that I wasn’t going to just accept the fact that my health was going to decline further. I knew I had to make a change. I decided I needed to take back charge of my health in my own hands. I studied functional nutrition under many functional doctors, scientist and specialists over the years and I became certified as a functional nutrition practitioner, personal trainer and a bio-hacker. Not only was I able to restore my own health, I am also helping others get back their health also. Over the last 9 years, I have been inspiring and teaching others how their body has the natural ability to heal themselves when it is given what it needs to thrive and survive. Everyone is a bio-individual and, given what their body needs, they can achieve optimal health. I want to inspire people that if I can recover my health, so can you. To stop using your age as an excuse. If you give your body what it needs, not only can you prevent chronic health conditions, you may even reverse chronic health conditions that you already have. Remember that age is just a number and should not determine how you look, move ,feel or act. At the age of 52, I feel younger and more energetic now then when I was in my 30’s. Bill leads our team by offering workshops in stress management and practice building as well as facilitating of our groups. He is passionate about supporting clinicians, leading our retreat program and workshops at our retreat center, Villa Serena. Deborah Williams loves the body of Christ Jesus and is dedicated to helping us grow up to full stature and understanding our Authority in Him. Called to preach at the age of 9, filled with the Holy Ghost at 12, she loved Jesus throughout her life. However, after a bitter divorce she felt condemned by the Church and drifted into drugs and depression.  After 2 years of confusion, she ended up sitting down with her father’s shotgun, stock on the floor, toe on the trigger and the muzzle against her throat. But the Lord intervened. He said, “What if there is a heaven and there is a hell?” This thought arrested her. She took her toe off the trigger and answered Him with her first clear thought in weeks. “I’ve been too wicked. There is no way you could still love Me.” Instantly, the loud, commanding audible voice of God demanded, “Go get your Bible!” She thought, “I don’t know where my Bible is.” Immediately she had a vision of it on the spare bedroom closet shelf under some blankets. In amazement, she found her Bible exactly where she had “seen” it. Laying the shotgun aside, she sat down and opened the Bible. “Oh, great,” she thought when it fell open to Deuteronomy. “What could possibly be there?” She had never understood the Old Testament and had no use for it, so she reached out to turn the page. Before she could, the same loud, audible voice commanded, “READ! For the next 27 years she has operated as a Prophet of God with the title of an International Evangelist traveling the Nations, as General Church Evangelist in the US and as Senior Pastor in Oklahoma, because the denomination to which God called her only gave lip service to the Prophetic call. In 2010, she became a nurse, and went from ministering to thousands to one at a time. In 2016, Michael Jones entered her life. After many confirmations, they determined it was the will of God and they married in January 2018. For a while they traveled in an RV around the Midwest until God called her to retire from nursing in 2020. The Lord said, “Start a YouTube Channel,” and of course, the rest is history. Deborah holds an Associate Degree Nursing as an RN from Beaufort County Community College, Washington, NC, and a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies at Lee University, Cleveland, TN. Michael is a US Army Veteran and holds a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies at Baylor University, Waco, TX.

Tania Joy Gibson, the host of Beauty for Ashes was Miss Illinois in 1996 and competed at the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City. She was also Miss Illinois Teen and Miss America Teen at the age of 16. Tania graduated with a Bachelor of Business Finance and worked in corporate America for over 10 years. Recently God has directed her into ministry. She has been singing since she was 3 and has performed on numerous stages across the country as an actress/singer/performer. Haven Howard

Haven Howard started her musical career at the age of 4 and carried that through college where she met her husband, Ron. After they were married in 1970, they formed a duo, Ron & Haven, and music ministry became their work and passion. Life takes different turns and after moving to Branson, MO, Haven also became a consultant with Arbonne International where she helps others find better health. This company was the answer to my prayers for financial freedom and helping others. She is also the Area Director for SW Missouri for Concerned Women for America of Missouri. Rosie Robinson

The Lord gave Stan and Rosie Robinson a vision to open a drug and alcohol center in 2007. While praying and meditating on God’s Word, the name for the center was revealed. The Brook name came from 1 Kings 17:4. Elijah was at the brook and the ravens fed him there. The Brook would be a place where people would find hope and love. Stan and Rosie were to teach those in need, that by the Word of God, their minds would be renewed, and their lives transformed (Romans 12:2). They opened The Brook on June 4, 2018, and now have 2 locations in Branson and Branson West to be able to help even more people in our community. Rosie’s heart is for those who are struggling with a substance use disorder, and trauma whether young or old, to be set free from their bondage and live a healthy life. Stan and Rosie have been married for 20 years and have 5 children. For all they have accomplished so far, they give the Lord the glory because if it wasn’t for Him, they could never have taken that leap of faith. Amen!

I’m a Kansas City native and I have always had a love for speaking in front of people, making my voice heard, and leaving a mind-blowing impact since childhood. I recently became a part of The Lions Speakers Academy led by speaker coach Allen Little where I will also receive my public speaking and life coaching certification as well. When I’m not speaking or writing poetry I’m working on writing my personal book titled “My Life, My heart, and My Love” currently in the conclusion phases as well as my poetry book titled  “From Pain to Power” geared towards encouraging people to go from victim to victorious I’m determined to inspire and be the change that I would love to see and in my world, that means living in VICTORY!

Cat Sharp is a Jesus-loving, worship-singing movie geek who has never fully grown up. She loves coffee, all things bright and silly, and wonders why Christmas lights are not socially acceptable year-round. Cat is a Certified Life Coach with a personal weight loss of over 100 pounds. She is passionate about helping women who love Jesus break the diet cycle and find peace and health in their bodies with the Word of God.
