The turquoise water of Aruba’s southern Caribbean Sea embraces our happy island like a hug. As warm and beautiful as the Aruban air above, it bursts with life and activity. Its crystal-clear depths home to vibrant reefs and wrecks just waiting to be explored by snorkelers and scuba divers. Kite and windsurfers harness world-class winds off Malmok Beach, while snorkelers, water skiers, and swimmers enjoy the protected shoals to the south and west. Off our eastern shores, crashing waves sculpt craggy cliff faces, leaving their mark on a happy island defined by the beautiful sea.

Eagle Beach

Voted third best beach in the world and I can definitely see why! Home to Aruba’s famous fofoti trees and the widest white sandy beach of the island, Eagle Beach is a must visit and a favorite of many. This gem is located just south of the hotel area (Palm Beach) and offers the perfect site for a nice, chill beach day.

Rodger’s Beach

Immediately west of famous Baby Beach, you can escape the crowds at Rodger’s Beach.

This beach offers a very relaxing, almost private vibe. For some, the view of the oil refinery might be a turnoff but for me personally, I think it only adds to the whole scenery and surroundings of Rodger’s Beach. This small beach contains a lot of unique picturesque places and beautiful aesthetics.

Baby Beach

Take in spectacular ocean views and indulge in shallow, crystal clear water at this magnificent paradise, Baby Beach. Famous Baby Beach in the southern part of Aruba, close to San Nicolas, is a true Caribbean beach paradise. This gorgeous half-moon sandy expanse in a calm lagoon is ideal for families with small kids. The shallow waters make it a prime beach destination for swimmers who like to wade out for a long distance and still touch the sea bottom. Where the bay opens out to the ocean, Baby Beach also offers the perfect location for snorkeling; for your safety, please stay within the marked snorkel area.

Aruba is home to the best snorkeling in the Caribbean, with 6 fantastic destinations that are easily accessible and exceptionally beautiful. If you’re a fan of the liberating feeling you get when exploring the underwater world with your mask and fins, then it’s time to explore Aruba’s incredible snorkeling opportunities. Our excellent weather, crystal-clear waters and fantastic sea life make Aruba one of the best islands to go snorkeling on in the entire Caribbean region.

Snorkeling in Aruba doesn’t get much better than this! Located on the northern coast of the island – Arashi beach is the perfect snorkeling beach for beginners due to its shallow water and sandy bottoms. There are no snorkel rental vendors nearby, so do bring your own gear. The fish at Arashi Beach are small and colorful, with a few larger ones in between. You’ll see a lot of palometas roaming near the shores, as well as cute bottom feeders.

Another excellent Caribbean snorkeling experience can be experienced at Boca Catalina, which is a popular stop for snorkeling tours because of the variety of sea life located here, including palometas swimming near the shores, trunkfish and sergeant majors. When you venture a bit deeper into the sea you will see some big colorful fishes and corals, and don’t be surprised if you spot a turtle at Boca Catalina swimming in front of you. Boca Catalina in Aruba is a small, secluded bay in the Malmok Beach area. The white sandy beach is accessible by steps and ample parking space is available alongside the main road.

Not far from the last hotel near the high-rise area is a long stretch of beach called Malmok, which offers some of the best snorkeling in Aruba. Malmok features numerous coves and plenty of fish – perfect for snorkeling! Around Malmok beach you’ll find fish like sergeant majors, bluehead wrasse’s, banded butterfly fish, trunkfish, and French angelfish to name a few. Be careful when entering the water, due to a lot of sharp rocks near the shores. Malmok beach also has a lot of sea urchins, so be sure to watch your step if you plan to stand in the water without fins.

Mangel Halto is located near the city of Savaneta, the oldest town of Aruba and the former capital as well. It’s not one of Aruba’s most well-known snorkeling beaches, but it’s one of the most beautiful places on our island, and entirely worth visiting. It is a perfect sunning and snorkeling spot in Aruba, with calm, shallow waters and rich sea life supported by an ecosystem of mangroves. Sharp rocks at the seashore can make entering this beach a little difficult, but as soon as you pass the rocky area, you’re bound to discover a beautiful, incredible, underwater world. You’ll see parrotfishes, squid, butterfly fish, yellowtail snappers, sergeant majors, blue tangs, sand divers, and even stingrays, deep water gorgonians, sponges and anemones if you go into the deep blue. The reef plunges to depths of 110’ where octopi, morays, and barracuda abound. Just be sure to watch out for strong currents at Mangel Halto, as this one of Aruba’s beaches that the sea can get rough! Think twice about snorkeling at Mangel Halto if you’re not a good swimmer, but if you are, then make sure that you’ve got this spot on your list of the top destinations because it’s a beauty

Shopping

Aruba also provides ample opportunity to lighten your wallet.

If you’re looking for some serious retail therapy, Renaissance Mall is a collection of upscale, luxury brands — with names like Gucci and Louis Vuitton — in downtown Oranjestad. More than 60 stores, as well as restaurants and cafés, fill the mall in the heart of the town, directly across from its marina. The shopping mecca is easily accessible to the high-rise hotel section and makes for a great day trip when you need a break from the sun.

If you’re in the market for more authentic Aruban shopping, stalls line the seaside next to the marina with handmade Aruban goods, a must-stop for souvenirs and trinkets. And make sure to check out the tiny shops and restaurants tucked on the winding streets behind the mall complex for a fun taste of Aruban flavor.

Experience true adventure at Aruba’s most remote, yet also most popular nature attraction, the famous Natural Pool. In a unique rock formation, volcanic stone circles a small depression, creating a tranquil pool: Aruba’s Natural Pool. On a deserted stretch of coastline, dramatic shows of water spraying over the rock occurs on a regular basis as the tide rushes to shore. The unique natural pool is also known as ‘Conchi’ (bowl) or ‘Cura di Tortuga’ (Turtles Cove) and located inside Aruba’s national park Arikok. The location of the Pool is surrounded by some of Aruba’s most rugged terrain, so a visitor truly gets the feeling of having “discovered” something when they reach the site, by either foot, horseback or 4×4 vehicle. Because of the nature of the environment in this secluded area, the site is inaccessible by a regular car. Inexperienced drivers are encouraged to visit the pool on a Jeep Safari.

In Arikok National Park, our beautiful Caribbean beaches give way to rugged deserts, towering green cacti, and limestone cliffs pounded smooth by waves and trade winds. It’s where you’ll find Fontein Caves and the Natural Pool – two of our most unspoiled and unforgettable wonders.

Arikok National Park is one of the island’s most popular tourist sites, covering nearly 20 percent of Aruba. Visitors can hop in guide-driven jeeps and ATVs or rent their own off-roading vehicles to traverse the rocky roads of the park. And when I say rocky, I truly mean hold-onto-your-hat-and-the-handle-and-anything-else-you-can-find rocky

Wild goats roam the park, and you can also spot rare birds and snakes as you traverse the hills, from the tops of which you will find spectacular, panoramic views of the island. The park is home to several caves that carry drawings and inscriptions dating back thousands of years. Watch your head when you enter, though, as bats now call the caves home. The Natural Pool at the base of one side is must-see. Visitors must descend about 100 steps to reach the entrance to the pool, a near-circular swimming area into which the daring can catapult from the top of the natural rock formations and the less-daring can snorkel for stunningly colorful views of fish and coral.

The lighthouse was originally named for the steamship California, which wrecked nearby in 1891. After that wreck the lighthouse was constructed in order to prevent future wrecks from occurring. Today you can visit the lighthouse and even eat lunch at an adjacent restaurant.

Flamingo Beach is a private island with several beaches and a spa. Flamingo Beach is the most popular beach, named for the pink flamingos that can be found here.

The pink flamingos in Aruba inhabit a private island. There is a $125 fee for access to the island for the day. It includes the boat transfer, lunch on the island, and a drink.

Aruba’s casinos are an excellent place for those who want to experience the excitement of gaming. All major resorts have their own casino and they are generally open from noon to just before sunrise, although some casinos are open twenty-four hours a day for slots play.

February, the last month of the winter in Oranjestad, is another hot month, with an average temperature fluctuating between 24.7°C (76.5°F) and 30.4°C (86.7°F).
An excellent water temperature of 26.3°C (79.3°F) and only 5 rainfall days, with 20.6mm (0.81″) of accumulated rainfall, makes February a prime for swimming and other water activities.
